The wait is finally over for Mate Rimac, the visionary CEO behind the Rimac Nevera hypercar. After overseeing the delivery of the first customer cars, including the #001 unit to Formula One champion Nico Rosberg, Rimac has unveiled his own personalized Nevera.
While Rosberg described his green Nevera as an “insane” and “proper racecar,” Rimac’s take on the hypercar exudes a more understated elegance. Cloaked in a dark red exposed carbon fiber exterior with unpainted carbon fiber accents, the car proudly displays the Croatian flag on the mirror casings, a subtle nod to Rimac’s heritage.
The theme of red continues inside the luxurious cabin, complemented by contrasting black accents. The passenger seat boasts a luxurious red Alcantara finish with black stitching, while the driver’s seat cleverly reverses the color scheme.
But the real heart-warmer lies in a special detail hidden within the driver’s bucket seat. Embroidered onto the headrests are the initials “M8” and “K8,” representing Mate and his wife, Katarina.
Adding a touch of Croatian history, the dashboard features a unique embroidery – the side profile of a woman known as the Solinjanka, a famous bust from the Archaeological Museum in Zagreb.
Performance remains uncompromised, of course. Just like any other Nevera, Rimac’s car boasts a staggering 1,888 horsepower (1,914 metric horsepower) courtesy of its quad-motor electric drivetrain. The 120 kWh lithium-ion battery pack promises a driving range of up to 300 miles (490 kilometers) on a single charge. This delivery marks a significant milestone for Rimac, not just as a company leader but also as a car enthusiast. With the all-new Bugatti teaser fresh in our minds, it’s clear that Rimac’s vision extends far beyond his own hypercar. The future of Bugatti, under the Rimac umbrella, promises to be just as exciting, with the much-anticipated reveal scheduled for June.
