The shipyard proudly presents the newest addition to its CLB series, the fourth model showcasing Jozeph Forakis’s innovative design that boasts a captivating beach club and a versatile indoor dining table.
CL Yachts unveils the CLB80, a model that seamlessly integrates into the company’s line-up, nestling between the widely popular CLB72 (see Review) and the flagship CLB88 (see Review). This vessel marks the second in the series to feature an aft-galley layout, a concept first introduced with the CLB65 (see Review). The commencement of the CLB80’s production is set for the second quarter of 2024.
Having lent his creative vision to both the interior and exterior of the CLB80, Jozeph Forakis, who also masterminded the design of the brand’s premier CLX96 (see Review), aims to retain the brand’s unique identity while imparting a sleek, sporty elegance to the vessel’s design ethos.
The yacht’s exterior is distinguished by new ‘boomerang’ aft fashion plates and a sleek line running from the sky lounge windscreen to the base of the main deck’s windscreen. The hull is accentuated by parallelogram-shaped glazing on each side, along with stepped windows that amplify visibility and flood the social areas with light.
Mirroring the design of the CLB88, the yacht features an enclosed sky lounge atop the upper deck, with various layout choices including a main deck galley that can be positioned at the front or rear.
A striking addition to this yacht is the beach club, which opens out to a spacious swim platform, creating an enchanting indoor-outdoor waterside retreat. Accessible via a transom door with vertical windows, this customizable space presents panoramic views and refreshing sea breezes, tailored to the owner’s tastes.
The initial design proposes a multifunctional area with a hidden TV and a utility wall, providing ample storage for aquatic gear. The space is equipped with a convertible table perfect for dining or relaxation, which can also transform into a sunbed. Additionally, this area can function as crew quarters as necessary.
CL Yachts suggests that the aft-galley design depicted in the early images of the CLB80 “enhances the dining ambiance and fosters a convivial environment that unites the interior with the exterior.” This arrangement encourages interaction between those in the galley and guests in both the indoor dining zone and the aft cockpit, courtesy of an electrically adjustable aft window.
The innovative dining table can be repositioned next to the galley, serving as a chic bar counter or sideboard, thus freeing up space for socializing.
The main saloon is arranged with a C-shaped sofa to port and features a transparent, floating sky lounge staircase poised above the lower deck access, enhancing the visual flow.
The interior’s “minimalist sophistication” is evident in the use of modular FRP pods that delineate space and purpose, bordering windows and beds, and incorporating vanity desks and settees. The aesthetic is completed with fluted oak paneling and lustrous marble highlights.
Both the sky lounge and the main saloon are equipped with electrically controlled windows that merge indoor comfort with the outdoor ambiance.
The sky lounge can house the sole helm station and a wraparound lounge, complemented by strategically placed cabinets. The adjacent open sky deck is versatile, doubling as a barbecue spot and an alfresco bar.
On the aft deck, a robust davit stands ready to launch water toys and tenders. The foredeck invites relaxation with a deluxe sunbed that transitions into a cocktail lounge.
The lower deck offers four en-suite cabins, including a full-beam master suite amidship with expansive hull windows.
In the bow, the V-berth VIP suite is adorned with a skylight, alongside two additional guest cabins. The lower deck also provides quarters for two crew cabins, located between the engine room and the beach club. For more details on this state-of-the-art vessel, visit www.clyachts.com.
