Capital Club Dubai, the only private business club in the region, has turned 15 this year.
As a premium exclusive businesspersons club, Capital Club Dubai provides members with unique networking opportunities, top-tier services, and experiences. It serves as an avenue where business leaders can tackle various issues and strategies and engage with government officials. The goal is to help shape a thriving economic environment.
The club also hosts roundtable and panel discussions, gathering the region and the globe’s foremost thought leaders and industry experts. Drawing from their insights, the club creates reports and grants its members access to the said documents.
Club expansion
Starting from 200 members and a few employees, the club has grown to welcome 1,200 members and 100 employees.
In 2019, Hussain Sultan Al Junaidy took helm of the club as its chairman and majority shareholder. Capital Club Dubai has since undergone several changes, including the redesign of the club’s interior and website and the introduction of an app. Under his leadership, the club has also entered into agreements with over 250 clubs globally.
“We would like to recognize many members and employees who have been with us from the beginning for their longstanding support and loyalty. Our vision for the future is to continue providing an environment in which everyone can flourish personally and professionally,” Al Juniady said in a statement.
Over the next years, the club aspires to implement ambitious plans. For instance, club members could access more interactive and immersive experiences and quality equipment. The club also aims to bolster its affiliations, reciprocal arrangements, and public-private partnerships to help members boost their businesses.
Mohamed Karmaoui, general manager, remarked, “We are immensely proud of the club’s achievements under the leadership of chairman Hussain Sultan Al Junaidy. Our members are industry thought leaders and our most valued asset. We look forward to evolving and developing alongside them for many years to come.”
Business community
Back in 2021, Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, cabinet member, underscored the importance of boosting the business community in making the UAE more competitive. He was speaking to the members of Capital Club Dubai.
The business community’s creativity and innovation improves the country’s competitiveness and fosters an ecosystem that’s beneficial for all. Apart from business community, the minister cited four more critical elements: leadership, human capital, regulations, and national values.
“Competitiveness that comes with peace and harmony will elude us if different elements of our population are in conflict, if we ignore or marginalize or distrust one another, if we reject the spirit of tolerance as a gateway to understanding, if we do not engage people different from us with respect in a search for common ground,” Al Nahyan noted in his speech.
“A truly competitive knowledge-based society and economy requires knowledge of others, their virtues and strengths, and how they may be combined with our own to create a better outcome for all,” he added.
