Warner Bros. Discovery and Red Sea Global (RSG), the company behind the opulent Red Sea tourist project, are working together to produce a documentary that will showcase the efforts being made to preserve coral reefs.
On April 22, 2024, Earth Day, “Beneath the Surface: The Fight for Corals” will premiere on Discovery Channel. The documentary highlights RSG’s dedication to sustainable growth by illuminating their environmental initiatives.
The movie follows Salma Shaker, a free diver from Saudi Arabia, as she collaborates with experts from RSG and KAUST (King Abdullah University of Science and Technology) to investigate cutting-edge coral research. In addition to seeing the stunning Red Sea reefs, viewers will visit reefs in Mexico, which will provide them a more comprehensive understanding of the worldwide difficulties that coral reefs face.
The documentary’s study of unexplored reefs along the Red Sea coast is one of its main themes. This section seeks to highlight this area’s distinctive biodiversity and its significance to the global environment. The movie also looks at how Red Sea research might help coral reefs all throughout the world.
Red Sea Global is a proud partner of Warner Bros. Discovery, according to director Kerrie McEvoy. “We believe in the power of storytelling to inspire change, and this film exemplifies that commitment.”
During COP28 in Dubai, the documentary had its world debut at an event presented by Red Sea Global. Discovery Channel is scheduled to broadcast “Beneath the Surface” in the US, Europe, and Asia.
The documentary provides an overview of environmental initiatives while also providing an update on the status of the Red Sea development project. In 2023, the first visitors came, and more hotels will shortly open. The concept has a green infrastructure with solar power and several greenery efforts.
The Red Sea project is an example of a dedication to environmentally conscious travel as well as upscale travel. Red Sea Global and Warner Bros. Discovery hope to increase awareness of the value of coral reef protection with the Earth Day documentary.
