As Dubai hosts COP28, the spotlight is on brands to showcase their contributions to the challenges of climate change.
Sophie Vann Guillon, part of the Valmont team since 2000, shares insights into the company’s participation in worldwide climate advocacy.
Originally established in 1985 in a Swiss clinic specializing in cosmetic procedures, Valmont has expanded into a bastion of Swiss craftsmanship, with a newfound emphasis on the GCC and Middle East markets.
Sophie Vann Guillon points out that Valmont’s unique selling points include the clarity and high concentration of its ingredients, which contribute to the brand’s noticeable effectiveness. She attributes their differentiation in the competitive market to various elements.
Valmont has long engaged in sustainable initiatives, such as the cultivation of their Phyto Alpine garden, which innovates the inclusion of biodiversity in their product range. The initiative to safeguard Swiss alpine flora and bees became evident with the introduction of the ‘Essence of Bees’ line. In collaboration with a renowned Swiss apiarist, Valmont procures honey, propolis, and royal jelly to create a distinctive blend.
Understanding the growing consumer demand for environmentally conscious options, Valmont strives to align with those expectations by engaging in eco-friendly practices.
Approximately 94% of Valmont’s offerings are produced in Switzerland, with every supplier adhering to two recognized sustainability standards (ISO 14001, Ecovadis).
Valmont’s commitment to natural ingredients is evident across their product lines. DNA, a vital component for cellular renewal and anti-aging, is one of the core elements used, sourced from natural and aquatic origins and lyophilized in Valmont’s labs. It’s a cornerstone of their skincare recipes. The glacial spring water, harnessed from Switzerland’s pristine alpine heights, is another fundamental element. Harvested at over 2,000 meters above sea level from the Arolla glacier, this water is pure, gentle, and optimally balanced, facilitating skin cell activity and bolstering the skin’s defense mechanisms.
